Adult Classes

The Food Network is about feeding both body and soul! So first we gather and have dinner together at 5:45 p.m. and then we attend a stimulating class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at SCBC for eight consecutive Tuesday nights from Feb. 2 through March 23. We have six classes on the menu!
"Story of Glory: Survey of John" with Glenn Davis: Ever since it was penned 2,000 years ago, the Gospel of John has been beloved by little children and by brilliant scholars alike. In this class we'll explore this glowing gospel in new ways - focusing on its big themes, unique symbols, and distinctive features. Meets in WC10.
"Da Vinici Decision: Are the Gospels Fact of Fiction?" with Darren Seitz and Curtis Coleman: The four canonical Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, have taken a beating in the popular culture over the last few years. Can we trust what they tell us about Jesus? That's the important question that we'll be tackling in this class. Meets in WC 21 C & D.
"Parenting Potluck" with Dave Boschen: Who doesn't need help and encouragement when it comes to the challenging and rewarding task of raising children? Dave Boschen, licensed marriage and family therapist, will give us new skills and insight into raising kids with love, laughter, and Biblical wisdom. Meets in AC 20 -21.
"Family Money Matters" with Jim Good: Join us as we examine what the Bible says about money in relation to the family. This class will focus how money really matters in our relationship with God, with our spouse, and with our children. We'll pay special attention to the responsibility of parents to train their children in the management of money, and learn some practical strategies for doing so. Meets in WC 22 A.
"The Big Story of the Bible" with Dom Passanisi: Don't know much about the Bible? Find the whole thing a bit overwhelming? This class offeres a fascinating overview of the Bible in ten "chapter." This class is great for those who are checking out Christianity or who are very new to faith in Jesus. Meets in WC 21 A.
"Back to the Future" with Bill Cree: The media loves to paint frightening pictures of the future in movies, television, and books. But what does the Bible really say about the future of the world? This is our topic. You'll get to peek into the future with the help of the most reliable guide to the future, the Bible. Meets in WC 20 A & B.

"Family Time: A Class for Parents with Kids"
Why offer "Family Time"? Because raising a family is no picnic. You need encouragement and support from other parents experiencing the same challenges that go along with raising children. You also need people around you to share the joys and the fun! We gather every Sunday morning
9 a.m. after dropping off our kids in the children ministry building. Then we socialize over coffee. Finally, we learn together! Using the Bible, we focus on issues related to family relationships. Sometimes we have live teachers, and other times we view videos by national experts. We also discuss other topics related to faith in Jesus Christ. Family Time is for all parents, single or married.

"Exploration of Isaiah"
